Tie2 is a regulator of vascular stability in the retina. Studies have shown that loss of Tie2 function is implicated in vascular compromise across all major retinopathies including: diabetic retinopathy, DME, and wet AMD.

HIF-1α is critical for the regulation of innate immune responses and maintenance of epithelial barrier function in the gastrointestinal tract. Stabilization of HIF-1α has been shown to dramatically improve wound healing and immune response in the gut.
